I moved to Georgia in 1980 and have been a resident of Gwinnett County since 1981. I attended Beaver Ridge Elementary, Sweetwater Middle, and Meadowcreek High school. Go Mustangs! After high school, I attended Howard University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in the Administration of Justice. After graduation I returned to Georgia to work for a law office for several years. After working in the legal field for several years I knew I wanted to be a lawyer, so I returned to Washington, D.C. to attend Howard University School of Law.
I passed the Georgia Bar in 2002 and began my career at King & Spalding, LLC. Later I served as an Assistant Solicitor prosecuting misdemeanors in the State Court of Gwinnett County. In addition to serving as a prosecutor in State Court for 10 years, I served as a prosecutor in several Municipal Courts, including Norcross, Suwanee, and Lilburn. In 2015, I established my own law firm, practicing criminal defense, divorce, and Social Security Disability. In addition to running my own law firm, I currently serve as an Associate Municipal Court Judge in the cities of Lilburn and Chamblee.
A large part of my practice is helping indigent people accused of misdemeanors navigate the court system. I have served as an advocate for Veterans in our Veterans Court and have worked with defendants in the Gwinnett Mental Health Diversion Program. Since 2015, I have handled over 1,000 matters in Gwinnett State Court alone.
In my free time, I volunteer for several non-profit and civic organizations that serve the Gwinnett County community. Currently, I serve as a board member with STRAP (Seeking the Right Amendable Path) Mentor Program.
My goal is to continue to serve the citizens of Gwinnett County as your next State Court Judge. I will work hard, serve with integrity and rule with impartiality.
